SEVIS FEE TRANSFER PROCEDURE

You can personally call them @  212-620-3418 and ask for your SEVIS transfer or see this page for a specific issue: http://www.ice.gov/sevis/i901/faq8.htm.

    I am an international graduate applicant from India and I have paid the SEVIS fee of $200/$235 to the OLD UNIVERSITY NAME with the SEVIS ID No: OLD UNIVERSITY SEVIS ID. But at present I have decided to change the University because I got my US Visa rejected for the Fall/Spring intake and I want to re-apply for Fall/Spring intake with another University. So I kindly request you to update the SEVIS records to the new university and provide me with a new SEVIS at my above given address. All the University details are mentioned below:

You will receive an automated reply saying your request has been received and will be processed. You SEVIS fee will be transferred within 3-5 business days.  sometimes in rare cases this procedure may take longer than 1 or 2 weeks. In that case its advisable to call them at 703-603-3400 (eastern time)  in case of emergency.

This will be their Usual reply if your request has been processed:


We have accepted and processed your request to transfer your SEVIS I-901 fee.  The updated fee payment information will be recorded in SEVIS on the new SEVIS ID and on the website at www.fmjfee.com. You will also be sent an updated I-797 receipt reflecting the fee payment transfer to the requested SEVIS ID.  You can print an electronic copy of your receipt at anytime from our website. Go to www.fmjfee.com and click “Check Status” and then enter your SEVIS ID, last name, and date of birth. The printed receipt is as valid as the hard copy (sent through the mail) and will be acceptable to take to your Visa interview and to enter the United States.  You do not have to wait for the updated/hard copy receipt to arrive.
